Art Classes 2017-2018

Individual empowerment and exploration of the visual arts are my focus at Cook Gallery and Workshop. I assist students in the development of their personal visions of the world, and help them find their voice in interpreting that vision. Through in-depth examination of the skills involved in drawing, students gain a richer grasp of art techniques and materials. Pride in craftsmanship develops and students are better able to fulfill their personal goals. These school-year programs are designed for both beginner and advanced students. Classes meet once each week for 90 minutes.  Classes begin in October and end in April.

Student Expectations

Learning to draw and paint requires a commitment and an investment of time. Regular attendance and the completion of assignments are essential to a student's growth. Students are encouraged to keep a drawing journal with entries made on a daily basis. These journal entries document thoughtful applications of the concepts and skills taught in class. Successful students will devote time each day at home to work on weekly assignments and to complete drawing journal entries.
